LEADERSHIP

Servants Church is led by three elders/pastors:

Jim Lanley

Justin Swasey

Patrick Ham

The qualifications for elders/pastors are laid out in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. Each elder/pastor is held accountable to this standard by fellow elders/pastors and all members of Servants Church. Elders/pastors humbly seek guidance from the Lord as to how Servants Church is to be led and governed. Each elder/pastor works a full time job and is not paid staff. All houses are under the overall leadership of the elders/pastors. Major decisions concerning Servants Church are made by these men. â€‹

In addition to elders/pastors, Servants Church has house church leaders that have similar responsibilities. Each house is led by two men who have been trained and meet the Biblical qualifications. Just as the elders/pastors work a full time job and are not paid staff, neither are the house church leaders. House church leaders are only responsible for the care and teaching of the members who attend that particular worship gathering.

Jim Lanley, teaching elder (jimlanley.sc@gmail.com)

Founding Elder/Missionary. Married to Keitha Lanley. Jim, along with Patrick Ham, was given a vision to plant a fellowship which centered on Christian doctrinal core values, practical biblical living, and millennially relevant purpose. It was also founded on the principle of opening fellowship to those who otherwise could not attend in more traditional settings. Graduating from The Baptist College of Florida and Beacon Theological Seminary, Jim has been in ministry for 30 years. God has called Jim and Keitha to reach the unengaged/unreached peoples of the world, strengthen disciples, and build the Church of Christ. They have been to many countries, long and short term, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, train disciple makers, plant churches, and educate/encourage pastors. The Lord has used Jim and Keitha to plant many churches, train hundreds of disciple makers, reached 2 unengaged people groups, and educated many pastors in closed and open countries. Jim and Keitha are avid readers, eager beach goers, and happy hospitality hosts.

Patrick Ham, teaching elder (patrickham.sc@gmail.com)

Patrick, along with Jim Lanley, is one of the founding elders of Servants Church. His call to ministry began at age 17. Upon graduating from The Baptist College of Florida, Patrick began serving as a youth pastor for several years. He has a passion to spread the gospel and equip healthy disciples. The Lord has allowed him to do this domestically and overseas. He and his beautiful bride, Kristen, are great partners in ministry and have a big heart for foster care and adoption. They have an amazing son, Caleb, who loves doing ministry with mom and dad.

Justin Swasey, teaching elder (juswasey@hotmail.com)

Justin Swasey became an elder with Servants Church shortly after it began, serving alongside Jim and Patrick. He is a full-time middle school math teacher, graduating from Troy University. He is married to his best friend, Joy, and they have two sons.  Justin has long had a heart for ministry, serving in children’s and youth ministry as well as a variety of short-term mission trips both domestically as well as in Haiti.
